Overview

This $99 million dollar project will restore a once vital historic civic asset into a vibrant stage and venue for The Arts and Veterans Organizations. This reconstruction/renovation project will in turn contribute to the vitality of the Civic Center District reflecting the values of San Francisco’s residents and the City’s leadership. All work on the Project will comply with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties including the DPW’s commitment to the stewardship of the historic resources within the Civic Center Historic District. The space includes the 916-seat Herbst Theatre and the San Francisco Arts Commission Gallery.
