CHARLES PANKOW BUILDERS WINS HONORS FOR CALTECH HAMEETMAN STUDENT CENTER AND KAISER PERMANENTE BALDWIN PARK MOB II AT 50TH ANNIVERSARY LABC ARCHITECTURAL AWARDS GALA

L.A. Business Council recognizes 23 projects for innovative design

LOS ANGELES (October 22, 2020)— Charles Pankow Builders was honored at the 50th Anniversary Los Angeles Architectural Awards, winning the Education and Healthcare Building Award in recognition of Caltech Hameetman Student Center, and Kaiser Permanente Baldwin Park MOB II. The virtual gala hosted by the Los Angeles Business Council on October 22, recognized teams of architects, contractors, owners and developers for setting new standards of design excellence.

This celebration honored the project teams' achievements in the Los Angeles region and beyond while commemorating the community impact of the built worlds on our quality of life.

“The LABC hosts these awards every year because we believe through great design, imagination, and teamwork we can build more vibrant, livable communities across our city,” said Mary Leslie, president of the Los Angeles Business Council.

These awards are a prestigious honor which recognizes the Innovation and Technology in the Built Environment across all projects in the United States. Caltech Hameetman Student Center and Kaiser Permanente Baldwin Park MOB II, were two of 23 winners in a competitive selection process from hundreds of projects by an esteemed blind jury panel representing a cross-section of industry experts including architects, construction firms, owners and developers.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the LABC hosted the awards as its first virtual award ceremony, with hundreds of participants logging onto the digital celebration. Representatives from Charles Pankow Builders, Ltd. joined leading architects, city officials, and business leaders in attendance.
