Research Grant Agreement #01-15; University of Texas-Austin

The Charles Pankow Foundation is pleased to announce that the Foundation has recently executed a new Research Grant Agreement with the University of Texas-Austin for research as further described below.

Setting Bar-Bending Requirements for High-Strength Steel Bar

Research Grant Agreement #01-15; University of Texas-Austin

Principal Investigator: Wassim M. Ghannoum

Industry Champions: Mike Mota, CRSI

This research project is a result of the ATC 115 Project, Development of a Roadmap on Use of High-Strength Reinforcement in Reinforced Concrete Design (RGA#05-13). This research project along with ongoing research projects at UC-Berkeley related to beams (RGA#04-14), UT-Austin related to columns (RGA#05-14) and University of Kansas related to walls (RGA#06-14) will determine, through rigorous laboratory testing, the required tensile and performance properties for high strength steel reinforcing bar.

The Foundation wishes to recognize co-funding support from the ACI - Concrete Research Foundation and the CRSI Education and Research Foundation.
