Verdical Group & Pankow at Greenbuild Conference

On October 6th, Michael Strong (Pankow's Senior Project Manager) interviewed Jack Mollenkopf (Pankow's SoCal Regional Vice President) and Drew Shula (Founder & Principal of Verdical Group) at the Greenbuild International Conference & Expo at Los Angeles Convention Center. Jack and Drew explained the importance of green building and how the two firms collaborate with one another. "Every project that we're involved in today has a sustainability component. With design-build and design-assist projects, we're at the table with architects and engineers when those decisions are being made in relation to sustainability," said Jack Mollenkopf. "I was on the planning committee and it's exciting to see it all come to fruition," said Drew Shula. "Net zero is a really important topic and is a buzz word throughout this conference."
Verdical Group is co-located within Pankow's Corporate Headquarters office in Pasadena, acting as an in-house sustainability resource and providing easy access to an on-site partner.
Launched in 2002, Greenbuild is the world’s largest conference and expo dedicated to green building. Greenbuild features several days of inspiring speakers, industry showcases, specialty workshops, tours of the host city’s green buildings and invaluable networking opportunities. Together with USGBC–LA Chapter, the city of Los Angeles was a first-time host bringing over 20,000 visitors and $32 million in business to the Los Angeles area.
