Mission Possible
LAMC Student Services Center and Admin Building (Phase II), Sylmar, CA
Pankow served as the Design-Builder for the new Student Services Center and Administration Building at Los Angeles Mission College in Sylmar, California. This three-story, 59,000-square-foot facility brings together essential student services under one roof, improving convenience for students and staff alike.
The Design-Build method allowed Pankow to collaborate closely with the college, QDG Architecture, and various trade partners. The effort, and the use of energy-efficient systems and materials, earned the building LEED™ Gold certification.
Lean construction delivers benefits
Pankow applied Lean Construction principles throughout the project to improve workflow, reduce waste, and maintain schedule certainty.
As a repeat client, the Los Angeles Community College District entrusted Pankow with delivering a facility that supports its mission to serve students and the surrounding community. Early planning aligned the design with LACCD’s goals, budget, and timeline.
The project met goals for local hiring and participation from LSEDV (Local, Small, Emerging, Disabled Veteran) businesses. Sustainability was also a major focus on the project.
Building for the greater good
Los Angeles Mission College now has a modern, student-focused hub that improves the campus experience. The facility not only enhances how services are delivered—it also strengthens the college’s ability to support students well into the future.
For Pankow, the LAMC at Sylmar Phase II project reflects what’s possible when collaboration and construction come together with purpose.
The Design-Build method helped Pankow deliver a LEED™ Gold-certified facility for LAMC at Sylmar.
