Breaking Ground on Fire Station 7 in Castro Valley

Pankow Builders, in collaboration with Alameda County Fire Department and our Design-Build partner BRW Architects, recently celebrated the groundbreaking of Fire Station 7, located in the Palomares Hills neighborhood of Castro Valley, CA. The project is part of a two-station program that includes the 8,000 SF Fire Station 7 and the 14,000 SF Fire Station 25, along with an interim facility to maintain continuous operations.

Designed to support the evolving needs of modern firefighting, the new facilities feature multi-bay apparatus bays, crew living quarters, kitchens, fitness rooms, and decontamination areas. Each station will also include photovoltaic systems, EV charging stations, and fuel dispensing systems for enhanced sustainability and operational readiness.

“Today’s groundbreaking ceremony marks a meaningful step toward construction of the new Alameda County Fire Station 7, the first of several fire stations funded by Alameda County Fire Safety Bond Measure X. We are grateful for the opportunity to work with the Alameda County Fire Department and our Design-Build trade partners on a project that will have an immediate impact on the community,” said Project Executive, Justin Cook.

Pankow Builders is proud to play a role in delivering essential infrastructure that serves and protects the Alameda County community.
