Celebrating the Grand Opening of APHCV’s El Monte/Rosemead Health Center

600 San Pedro exemplifies the power of collaboration in addressing homelessness and fostering community.

Last Friday marked a momentous occasion as Pankow Builders proudly joined Asian Pacific Health Care Venture (APHCV) in celebrating the ribbon cutting ceremony of their newly enhanced El Monte/Rosemead Health Center. This milestone not only represents the culmination of a successful construction journey but also the beginning of expanded healthcare access for the surrounding community.

Transforming Healthcare Access Through Thoughtful Design

The project was a 15,956 SF, multi-phased tenant improvement effort conducted under OSHPD/HCAI 3 jurisdiction—an endeavor that required precision planning and collaborative execution. The renovations were centered around patient experience, functionality, and accessibility, aligning with APHCV’s mission to provide high-quality, culturally appropriate health care.

Pankow’s scope of work included the creation of:

  • Modern exam rooms to accommodate more patients and providers

  • An efficient and centralized nursing station to improve care coordination

  • Comfortable and functional provider offices

  • A fully equipped laboratory for diagnostic services

  • Upgraded restrooms for patient and staff use

  • Strategic utility relocations to support new infrastructure

  • Installation of a new elevator to enhance accessibility across floors

  • Exterior renovations that improved wayfinding, patient entry, and overall curb appeal

Each element was carefully crafted to serve both the day-to-day operations of APHCV’s dedicated staff and the broader needs of the local community.

A Collaborative Effort

Delivering a project of this scale and importance required strong partnership and trust. We extend our sincere gratitude to our architectural partner, Houston/Tyner, and owner’s representative, MGAC, for their leadership and collaboration throughout the process. Most importantly, we thank our client, Asian Pacific Health Care Venture, for their vision and continued commitment to improving community health.

Now Open and Ready to Serve

With construction now complete and the facility officially open to the public, the El Monte/Rosemead Health Center is ready to provide essential health services to patients in a welcoming, modern, and fully equipped environment.

At Pankow Builders, we are honored to contribute to projects that have a lasting, positive impact on communities. This ribbon cutting not only commemorates the completion of a construction project—it celebrates the beginning of improved care, expanded services, and healthier futures.

Stay tuned for more stories highlighting the meaningful work we’re doing in healthcare and beyond.
