Ribbon Cutting Marks Completion of Union Station’s South Patio Restoration
Our team carefully balanced historic preservation with modern engineering.
Pankow Builders is proud to celebrate the completion of the South Patio Restoration Project at Los Angeles Union Station, a project that honors the station’s storied past while ensuring its future.
Our team carefully balanced historic preservation with modern engineering. Nearly 100,000 century-old bricks were meticulously removed, cataloged, and reinstalled. Along the way, we enhanced drainage systems, improved accessibility, and safeguarded archaeological discoveries—all while preserving the station’s original 1939 character.
This achievement was made possible through the dedication of our longtime partners at Los Angeles Union Station, Morlin Asset Management, LP, and Architectural Resources Group. We are grateful for their collaboration in bringing this vision to life.
This milestone not only preserves Union Station’s legacy, it prepares this iconic landmark for decades of community use and enjoyment ahead.
