Kaiser Preferred Provider Program Symposium

On Tuesday, October 20, 2015, Emily Nochez, Lee Hopkinson, and Elton Murakami spent a day at the Southern California Kaiser Preferred Provider Program Symposium.

Going into its second year, the Kaiser Preferred Provider Program consists of a shortlisted stable of 12 General Contractors and app. 20+ Architectural firms that Kaiser has prequalified in performing the Capital Projects for their National Facilities Services group. The annual symposium is very similar to the Pankow company-wide meeting where it is set up as a venue to share best practices and lessons learned amongst the Preferred Provider Program members.

Pankow participated in a panel discussion on innovative thinking. Elton Murakami represented Pankow and shared some thoughts on how owners can drive more innovation into projects, how teams can deal with escalation and market conditions impacting the industry and innovative project delivery methods. Elton was joined by representatives from Kaiser, Whiting Turner, NBBJ and Perkins and Will. The same panel also presented at the northern California Symposium on November 3rd
