Creative Energy, Built to Last

Produce LA, Los Angeles, CA

Design-Build of a 112,000 SF, five-level mixed-use development in the Arts District of downtown Los Angeles. The project includes 10,000 SF of retail, 7,000 SF of restaurant space, rooftop amenities, and subterranean parking for 175 vehicles. Its sawtooth façade of clear glazing and metal panels establishes a striking presence while maximizing daylight and energy efficiency.

Demolition of an existing 35,000 SF warehouse made way for the new creative campus, which emphasizes community, connectivity, and sustainability.

Revitalizing the Arts District

Produce LA stands as a symbol of the Arts District’s evolution from industrial to creative hub. Designed by EYRC Architects and built by Pankow Builders under a Design-Build contract, the five-level, 112,000 SF complex integrates office, retail, and dining spaces while maintaining the neighborhood’s industrial edge. Its distinctive sawtooth façade and transparent upper floors provide abundant daylight and visual connection to the street.

The project’s rooftop is an urban oasis with landscaped gathering spaces and panoramic views of downtown Los Angeles. Sustainability was a guiding principle, with energy-efficient systems, green materials, and water-saving strategies supporting its LEED® Gold Certification.

Completed in just 17 months despite the challenges of a tight infill site, Produce LA demonstrates how forward-thinking design and collaborative delivery can redefine a historic district while preserving its creative spirit.

Produce LA brings new life to the Arts District with a five-level mixed-use workplace featuring rooftop amenities, retail and restaurant space, and a distinctive sawtooth façade.
