Pankow partners with Habitat for Humanity to bring Children's Playhouses to the Local Community

Pankow Builders is holding its third consecutive Company-Wide Meeting where all 230+ company-wide employees throughout California are invited to attend learning workshops, develop leadership skills and build camaraderie. Workshops and leadership sessions are employee-led with external motivational speakers invited for the luncheon keynote. This company-wide meeting is aligned with Pankow’s vision of “see the possibilities, engage the power in people, and deliver value – in everything we do.”

On Friday April 29th, Pankow is partnering with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (Habitat LA) for its Playhouse Build Program. The Playhouse Build Program provides an enjoyable volunteer experience for all employees to collaborate and construct a useable and durable playhouse. Completed playhouses will be donated to the San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity (SGV Habitat) and will benefit the local San Gabriel Valley community. While serving the community-at-large, the program also provides a memorable and enjoyable team building opportunity for Pankow employees whose goal is to Inspire, Engage and Excite with one another.

Headquartered in Pasadena, Pankow has an established partnership with SGV Habitat since the early 2000’s. While its Pankow ambassador has changed hands over the years – starting with Project Executive Emily O. Nochez to Regional Operations Director Calvin Yoshida to Senior Superintendent William “Red” Ward to (former) Chief Estimator Bob Law, Pankow’s dedication in supporting its local communities through SGV Habitat is unwavering.

More recently since 2009, Senior Superintendent Amanda Gallagher has worked closely with SGV Habitat through its renovation programs (Brush with Kindness) and new construction projects (the Geneva and Chestnut Home projects in Glendale). Amanda spearheads all of Pankow’s local volunteer opportunities with SGV Habitat and serves on the SGV Construction Committee outside of Pankow – she is passionate about the work, inspires others to build for the community, and encourages others to
develop their hands-on construction skills.

“As managers and engineers, we don’t always have the opportunity to physically work with our hands and get a little dirty,” said Amanda Gallagher, Senior Superintendent at Pankow Builders. “Working with SGV Habitat allows us to go beyond the daily grind of our computer screens, drawings and details - and actually build something tangible ourselves.”

“As a local builder based in San Gabriel Valley, it makes sense for Pankow to be involved with SGV Habitat,” said Dave Eichten, President and Chief Operating Officer. “We all have a great time learning new skills and developing leadership skills – with diverse tasks that vary from our day-to-day jobs. Pankow is a proud partner of SGV Habitat and we are happy to embark on a new partnership with Habitat LA. We look forward to continuing to strengthen these relationships throughout the coming years.”

Pankow’s company-wide meeting is being held at The Westin Pasadena from April 29-30, 2016. In partnership with Habitat LA, all playhouses built will benefit local communities throughout the San Gabriel Valley.
