Volunteer Day at Habitat for Humanity: Desiderio Bungalow Homes

On Wednesday November 30th, nine Pankow employees volunteered with San Gabriel Valley's Habitat for Humanity at its Desiderio Bungalow Homes Project in Pasadena, CA. This new project, which started earlier this year, will provide affordable housing for nine families and is planned for completion by end of 2017. Currently, four of nine homes have been framed - with roofing and interior rough-in to start soon. Pankow's group of volunteers, alongside other volunteers from L.A. Conservation Corp. and some of the new homeowners, worked together diligently throughout the day installing plywood sheathing at the gabled roofs of the detached garages and installing hardie siding at the roof eave overhangs. It was a beautiful day for volunteering and our Pankow Warriors enjoyed learning new skills and making Lean process improvements throughout the day.

Volunteers included: Amanda Gallagher (Volunteer Leader), Eric Ashby, Vanna Nguyen, Kim Lum, Eva Bailey, Peter Loeb, Debbie Boughner, Dustin M. Smith and Nury Aldana
