FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE |
Pasadena, February 2008 - For the past 11 months, PSPL Oakland has been involved in a highly complex, accelerated project at the John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek. Sequence 1 was comprised of 1) the renovation of an outdated Emergency Department (ED), including 13 Treatment Rooms, CT Scan Room, new Nurse’s Station, Waiting Room, Staff Lounge and Locker Rooms and bathrooms total 12,000 square feet; and, 2) site work including new patient parking, doctor and staff parking, new signage and installation of a 30,000 gallon diesel fuel tank.
Driving the accelerated schedule was the intense need of the client to have the new facility. We’ve all heard news reports on the increasing demand placed operating EDs in California, and John Muir was no different – they had simply outgrown their current facilities. While the project was under construction, the staff was working in a temporary ED.
Sequence 2, which includes the construction of more Treatment Rooms, an ambulance entrance, another CT Scan Room and X-ray Rooms, begins in mid-March.
