Over the years, Pankow leadership in Industry Associations and in research and development efforts has introduced world-recognized innovations and new technologies into the marketplace.

Charles Pankow Foundation

Charles J. Pankow established the Charles Pankow Foundation (CPF) in 2002 as a nonprofit, public benefit, charitable corporation in 2002 to fund research, development and adoption of new ideas and products that will help the U.S. building construction industry be more efficient and cost competitive. Since launching its first grant in 2006, CPF has funded more than $5 million in research grants in the United States, concentrating on the areas of Project Team Tools and Practices and Structures and significantly supporting the development of a National BIM Standard for Structural Concrete and Project Execution Planning for Building Information Modeling.

Although CPF operates independently from the company, Pankow personnel regularly participate on the CPF Advisory Council and as Industry Champions of research projects. And while we are dedicated to bringing the advancements to our clients, as a 501c(3) institution, all of the products resulting from the foundation’s grants are available in the public domain. Pankow’s 40 year involvement and leadership in the American Concrete Institute has led to numerous advances in the structural concrete design and construction field. Strategic and research initiatives have led to Performance-Based Design approaches, construction methodologies and advanced concrete and precast structural systems for buildings that provide reliable seismic performance while limiting damage. Throughout our history and continuing today, Pankow is a recognized leader in the concrete construction field, striving to improve this industry for everyone’s benefit.
