Pasadena, August 7, 2007 - Pankow Special Projects, LP (PSPL) recently completed construction of San Francisco-based Beverly Prior Architects’ new 12,500-square-foot office space, one of the first to pursue a LEED-Commercial Interiors (CI) Gold certification outside of the pilot program. San Francisco based Huntsman Architectural Group served as architects for the project.
“We were selected for the project at the end of June 2006 and, as of that point in time, design had not yet begun,” explained Wally Naylor, Group Manager for PSPL’s San Francisco office. “We started construction on August 17, 2006 and completed on November the 9th. That’s just four months from design to completion without compromising the client’s number one goal for the project – to seek LEED-CI certification.”
Three factors kept this project on target for both fast-track schedule and green: 1) a strong integrated design team, 2) creative scheduling and 3) product research and knowledge. Pankow’s ability to address means, methods and constructability issues during the design process instead of after the fact, saved both the schedule and green objective. |
