Pasadena, March 2008 - Charles Pankow Builders, Ltd. (Pankow), was selected by the Fifield Companies to build the upscale Allure Waikiki luxury condominium tower located in the Waikiki area of Honolulu. It is the 26th condominium complex in Pankow’s long history of quality high-rise residential construction in prime urban markets throughout Honolulu and California.
Pankow managed the preconstruction process and began construction in December 2007. During the next few months, caisson drilling will be completed and the building’s foundation will be placed. Soon after, the tower crane will be erected and the concrete structure will extend vertically. Opening is scheduled for March 2010.
“Pankow is a long-time builder of quality high-rise residential,” said John Ryden, Senior Vice President of Construction for the Fifield Companies. “We selected Pankow as our contractor because they understand both the complexities of building on constrained urban sites and the exacting demands of a high-end construction.”
The 35-story tower contains 291 one-, two- and three-bedroom units ranging in size from 833 square feet to 1,633 square feet, each with a private lanai, a 19,500-square-foot recreational terrace, 9,000 square feet of signature dining and/or upscale retail space as well as 32,000 square feet of parks and gardens. The project includes 175,000 square feet of subterranean parking for 458 cars.
The architect on the project is Architects Hawaii, Inc.; Englekirk Partners are the structural engineers. The sales office is located at the project site at 1837 Kalakaua Avenue; (808) 739-4140.
